History

The Working Group was established during the 1998 SEFI annual conference in Espoo, Helsinki, Finland 1998 following a wish expressed by participants of the SEFI Annual Conference 1997 in Cracow.

Objectives

The Working Group was established in order to:

  • strengthen the share of professional ethics as a subject of engineering education. 

  • develop new effective methods for ethics education in the professional context.

The particular goals that are being pursued in view of the Working Group's purpose are to:

  • establish and activate a network of educators and practicing engineers who want to develop ethics education.

  • exchange the experiences and teaching material developed in engineering schools

  • stimulate discussion, opinion formation and decision making at all relevant levels about the needs and opportunities for ethics in the engineering curricula.

Membership of the Working Group is open to all members of SEFI. You can become a member by subscribing to the membership list which is also the WG's mailing list..

The Working Group has about 45 members on its membership list.

 Members of SEFI who take an interest in the activities of the Working Group are invited to join the WG's meetings and events (See upcoming events).
